Some corporations in Bhutan find themselves saving a lot of time, money and effort going through a hectic recruitment process, thanks to the campus recruitment initiative. It is proving to be beneficial both to the graduates who are offered the jobs on the spot and the companies that hire them. It is beneficial to the graduates in a sense that they no longer have to search for a job in an already shrinking job market and that as soon as they finish their studies, they have jobs; thereby reducing family pressure. And for the companies that hire them, apparently they no longer have to go through a nightmarish recruitment process, but they still get to hire the best candidates – a win-win situation!
There are chances, however, that some students would end up in wrong places only to regret later. Some will accept the offer because they really want to work for a particular company. That’s good! Some will accept the offer out of sheer pressure, which does not bode well both for the company and the graduates. Therefore, some careful attention needs to be paid by both the parties so that everyone is happy at the end of the day. And having come through the same channel, I think I am in this position to comment. But my suggestions are to be taken only at face value.
Before the end of this month (June), a group of companies in the country will enter the gates of Gaeddug College to hunt for their prospective candidates. We wish all the participating companies and the graduates very best of luck in all their endeavors.
